Right, on rewatch I noticed the white tulip beside Walter’s notes while an Observer watched from the background. People keep calling that kindness; I think it was guilt made visible, and the Observer was measuring the cost, not admiring the flower. You can miss it if you only watch Walter’s hands, can’t you?
