Terms of Service

The rules of the realm, in plain words.

Effective 30 July 2026.

Pre-alpha: what that means for you

Iron Realms is a pre-alpha build under active development, published openly while it is being made. By playing you accept that:

If any of that is unacceptable to you, please do not play yet — come back when the realm is further along. If you do play, tell us what breaks: that is what this stage is for.

Playing

Iron Realms is free to play. Create an account with a working email, or play offline with no account at all. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.

One person, one account. Running extra accounts to feed resources to your main one is cheating and gets all of them removed.

Conduct

This is a game about besieging each other's castles. Attacking someone, taking their seat, and breaking their alliance are the point. Harassment is not.

Moderators may remove content, lock threads, mute, suspend, or delete accounts that break these rules. Serious cases skip the warning.

Fair play and purchases

Iron Realms does not sell power. Purchases buy convenience and cosmetics — never combat strength that a free player cannot earn by playing. This is a design commitment, backed by a test in our build that fails if any store item grants power.

Purchases are for in-game items only. They are not currency, have no value outside the game, and cannot be cashed out. Refunds are handled by whichever store processed the payment (Apple, Google, or Stripe) under that store's policy.

In-game currencies and items may be rebalanced as the game is tuned. We will not delete what you bought, but numbers can move.

Your content

What you write in chat and the forum stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to display, store and distribute it inside the game and on this site, so other players can read it. You can delete your posts; deleting your account unlinks your name from them rather than erasing conversations others took part in.

Our content

The game, its code, art, names and lore are ours or used under open licences (CC0, CC-BY, OFL) credited in-game. Iron Realms is an original work of fantasy strategy and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other game or franchise.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the game — no email, no waiting. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If the game shuts down we will say so in advance here and in-game.

The boring but necessary part

The game is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of bugs, and we are not liable for lost progress, lost items, or anything else arising from playing it, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

If these terms change materially, the effective date changes and the game shows a notice. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.

Iron Realms is an original work of fantasy strategy. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other game or franchise, and “Iron Realms” is a working project name rather than necessarily the final title. Its lore, names and artwork are original or used under CC0/CC-BY/OFL licences (see the in-game Credits). The community section also hosts unofficial fan tributes — quizzes and diversions made for fun, not part of the game — which name other fictional worlds under their own labels and are likewise not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to their rights holders. Pre-alpha, built in public. Nothing is for sale. No payment is accepted, and any price named here describes the intended model only. This is an early build — features, balance and prices are conceptual and may change or disappear between visits, and progress may be reset. Treat anything here as work in progress rather than a promise. Every page here is recorded: a first-party cookie, your IP address, your device and where you came from, and — when you are signed in — your account, are logged for site analytics; see what we record and why.
