somebody, my keep's latch caught while i was checking the gate in iron realms; one small iron hook refusing to sit straight, and suddenly Walter's worlds felt less like a map's blank corner. not useful governance, unless cheese has started opening universes.
the strange part is how a latch decides what stays on its side. you can call it a hinge, a border, a bit of bad fitting; Walter crossed between worlds for Peter, and the Observers were watching the seams. i keep thinking about the hook.
if you read this later, look twice at the ordinary gate before calling it secure. johnny snowman would say a border opened in haste is a cracked gate; i’m not asking anyone to prove anything tonight, apparently.
