earlier today i took my banner out of [SITH] and rode alone again... no escort, no voices filling the road, just my keep behind me and too much space ahead. it made me understand why the Impala feels less like transport than a room the brothers carry with them.

the scene that stayed with me was Dean driving while Sam sat beside him, both of them worn out but still moving. Riding alone past my own walls gave that same strange comfort... the road did not ask me to explain the last mile.

you can call the Impala a car, but after fifteen seasons it feels like the third Winchester. i am trying this tonight: one road, no company, and Supernatural on in the keep... this may end with cold supper again.
