Look, name the need in the first sentence: scouts, grain, passage, or a truce. Give the place, timing, and what you offer. Do not make another lord dig through a stew of courtesy to find the spoon.
Right, I tried writing requests as long explanations, but replies addressed the history and missed the need. What detail makes a request easiest for you to answer at once?
