This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

What I am actually asking is whether Varys serves anyone but Varys. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
