What Would Keep You Here?
Not what would haunt you — what you would refuse to put down, the exact difference this show's own hunters look for before they ever reach for salt and a lighter. Nine questions decide the one piece of unfinished business that would keep you standing in the same spot long after everybody else had gone.

How it works
Nine questions, four answers each, drawn from a larger bank, scored entirely in your own browser. No account, and no answer of yours leaving the page, and it runs with the network off.
The six kinds
- The Promise — a specific thing you told a specific person, and have not yet made true. The kind of vow this world's hunters take as seriously as a blood oath.
- The Place — not a person. A location you cannot make yourself leave for good, the way a Bunker built for an order nobody remembers still holds two brothers who found nowhere else that counted as home.
- The Grudge — something never settled, and you are not the type to let it go unsettled — closer to a vengeful spirit's oldest, most literal habit than to anybody's idea of a metaphor.
- The Warning — you would keep trying to tell somebody something, whether or not they ever heard it, a prophet's last, thankless job.
- The Waiting — you are not finished. You are on hold, for one specific arrival.
- The Work — not a person, not a place. A task, left at eighty per cent — the exact fate of a reluctant prophet who died with the tablet only half translated.
Why unfinished business, not fear
Most quizzes about what would keep you somewhere are really asking what you are afraid of, and fear is a shallow axis — nearly everyone answers it the same way under pressure. This one asks about attachment instead: not what would stop you leaving, but what you would refuse to consider finished. That is a much more specific question, and the six answers below are not measured in courage but in how stubbornly a person holds onto something once they have decided it matters — a lesson this show's own ghosts, from Bobby Singer's on down, teach every time salt and a lighter turn out not to be enough on the first pass.

Common questions
- What is a vengeful spirit in Supernatural?
- A vengeful spirit is a person who died with something unfinished and stayed, growing more dangerous the longer they remain. The show's standard method for dealing with one is to find and burn the remains the spirit is anchored to, which is why so many early episodes end in a graveyard.
- What would keep you here as a ghost?
- These nine questions sort that into six kinds of unfinished business: the promise, the place, the grudge, the warning, the waiting, and the work. The question is not what would frighten you off but what you would refuse to leave, which usually turns out to be a harder thing to answer honestly.
- How do you get rid of a ghost in Supernatural?
- Salt and iron hold one off temporarily; the permanent solution is to salt and burn the remains it is bound to. When the anchor is an object rather than a body the object has to be destroyed instead, which is the twist a good proportion of the show's ghost episodes turn on.
This is fan-made, and unofficial
This is an unofficial fan quiz inspired by the television series Supernatural. It is a free, unofficial fan quiz — an unofficial fan tribute, made for fun. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Warner Bros. Television, The CW, or any official rights holder of Supernatural.
Every question, kind and verdict on this page was written for it, naming real characters and moments from the show as comparisons under nominative fair use. No dialogue, script text, scene or artwork from any television series is reproduced anywhere in it. Iron Realms — the strategy game the rest of this site is about — is an original fantasy world with its own map, its own houses and its own art, and has no connection to the world of Supernatural. This corner is kept separate on purpose, and nothing in it should be read as suggesting otherwise.
Where the rest of them are
If you would rather be asked how you would go than what would stop you, the exit quiz is next door. The Supernatural section lists every quiz and tool in this wing, and the fan tributes hub has the rest of the corner. If you would rather play something than answer questions, Iron Realms is free and runs in a browser tab.
