How Would You Leave?
Not whether you would go — everybody goes eventually, and few casts have proved it as often as this one's. Nine questions decide what it would actually look like the day your part in something is over, and whether anybody gets a say in how.
Clearing out the desk…
How it works
Nine questions, four answers each, pulled from a bank larger than nine, scored entirely in your own browser. No account, and no answer of yours leaving the page — it runs with the network switched off.
The six shapes
- The Gesture — big, public, and meant to be remembered. You would want the room to know it was a choice, the way a hunter's own funeral rite is a pyre, not a quiet burial.
- The Quiet Resignation — a letter, a handshake, and gone before anybody can make it a scene.
- The Burned Bridge — you would not merely leave, you would make certain there was nothing to come back to, the way a demon who has been lying about which side she is on eventually stops bothering to hide it.
- One Last Useful Act — you would spend your final hour on the thing that actually helps, not the goodbye — Bobby Singer's whole philosophy about how a hunter's last stand ought to work.
- Refusing To Go — you would not leave, even past the point where staying costs you. There is at least one ghost in this world too stubborn to move on even once he had every reason to.
- Coming Back Under A New Title — you would go, and you would return, and you would not be the same rank when you did — no character in this show has done it more often, or more literally, than the angel who first appeared as a soldier and kept coming back changed.
Why the shape and not the reason
A quiz that sorted on WHY people leave would really be sorting on how sympathetic you find them, which is not an interesting question about you. This one holds the reason constant — your part in something is genuinely, unambiguously over — and asks only what you would physically, actually do about it. The six shapes are not ranked; a burned bridge and a quiet resignation are both real answers, not a right one and a wrong one.

Common questions
- How would you be written out of a show?
- That is what these nine questions decide, across six shapes of walking away: the grand gesture, the quiet resignation, the burned bridge, one last useful act, refusing to go at all, or coming back later under a new title. It is about how you leave things, not about who would miss you.
- Why is a departure quiz about Supernatural specifically?
- Because fifteen seasons is long enough that almost every kind of exit happens at least once, and the fandom has spent years arguing about which of them were earned. That gives the six categories here something real to be measured against rather than being invented from nothing.
- Is this quiz free and private?
- Yes to both. There is no account, no sign-up and no email, every question is answered inside your own browser, and no answer is ever transmitted. It is a free unofficial fan tribute with a shareable result link.
This is fan-made, and unofficial
This is an unofficial fan quiz inspired by the television series Supernatural. It is a free, unofficial fan quiz — an unofficial fan tribute, made for fun. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Warner Bros. Television, The CW, or any official rights holder of Supernatural.
Every question, shape and verdict on this page was written for it, naming real characters and moments from the show as comparisons under nominative fair use. No dialogue, script text, scene or artwork from any television series is reproduced anywhere in it. Iron Realms — the strategy game the rest of this site is about — is an original fantasy world with its own map, its own houses and its own art, and has no connection to the world of Supernatural. This corner is kept separate on purpose, and nothing in it should be read as suggesting otherwise.
Where the rest of them are
If you would rather be asked what stays behind you than how you go, the ghost quiz is next door. The Supernatural section lists every quiz and tool in this wing, and the fan tributes hub has the rest of the corner. If you would rather play something than answer questions, Iron Realms is free and runs in a browser tab.
