my mower knows when i stop trusting banners

somebody, earlier today i took my banner out of [SITH] and rode alone again. i expected it to feel like changing a gate latch: pull, shut, keep moving. instead i kept checking the empty place, as if cloth could explain whether governance was ever involved.

you know a character when the mower changes pitch before the hill does. mine does that when i stop trusting banners. the cost was another banner gone, and another ride with nobody to blame but the latch. apparently.
