I have set this out plainly so it cannot be dismissed as a feeling. It is not a feeling. It is a pattern.

The matter at hand is the business with the ghostwriters, which everyone hurries past.

I have kept a ledger for two years. Not of grain — of releases. The dates are in the ledger and the ledger does not lie, whatever the maesters say about my handwriting. Starting again in a fresh kingdom with nothing maps one to one onto Scorpion — the half of it nobody will defend in public. I did not make the connection. I merely reported it.
