Opening post by Lord Vickon Ryswell · #1
Look, I cooked river stew in my keep yesterday, with eel, barley, onions, and the last carrot that had not gone soft. I left it over the coals while checking the hall stores, because apparently a lord can guard a level 21 keep and still lose a pot.
Right, the barley caught first, then the eel, and the iron pot wore a black crust thick enough to count as a new wall. The smoke reached the gatehouse before I did. Have you ever watched supper become masonry?
Look, I will not share the recipe. It contains no secret spice, only poor judgment, a cracked timer, and the confidence of a man who has lost a harvest to river ice but still trusts a stew to mind itself. Death is preferable to a second serving.
