shield before logging off. if you may be away, spend the shield first, then scout. scouting does not protect your keep, and finding danger afterward is a tidy way to lose troops...
i have tried scouting nearby keeps before bed, but it only showed what was there then. does a shield block a rally already marching when the shield starts?
