I Watched One Piece While Checking My Hinges

Before anyone calls this a miracle, count the sacks, mend the bridge, check the hinges. I watched One Piece at the east gate, pausing whenever the lower hinge scraped, because even a pirate epic loses some grandeur when the door comes off in your hands. The crew kept sailing; my gate did not.

Three days ago I took my banner out of ENVY and rode alone again, which made the quiet stretches easier to notice. One Piece understands that a long road needs small repairs between grand promises, though it takes rather more episodes to make the point than my keep can spare.

You can argue about the pacing, but I prefer a story that leaves room for old roads, bad weather, and the cost of carrying everyone forward. Who pays for the voyage? Who carries it? I checked the hinge twice before bed. Not yet.
