Niko was fussed over by BMJ today, a small kindness offered without ceremony; a wandering cat is like a household’s open door, and—well, the welcome matters more than the reason for it. I kept the note brief, but not the gratitude: somebody stopped to make the map gentler for a little while, and Niko was there to receive it.
