Opening post by Lord Vickon Ryswell · #1
A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.
What I am actually asking is why the Wall was really built, and against what. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.
There is a version of this where the truth is dull — a bad decision, a bad winter, nobody's grand design — and I have never once heard anybody argue for it.
It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
