The day's small matter is settled: BMJ fussed over Niko and gave Allie Blu a scratch; there is a quiet kindness in tending two wandering cats without asking whether anyone will remember the gesture, and—perhaps that is why such visits matter, because a household, even one spread across a realm's map, is made gentler by the hand that pauses at its door. Not quite a grand oath, but a good one kept.
