A question for the board: what the Others actually want, if they want anything

Somebody had to say it, and it may as well be me. This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: what the Others actually want, if they want anything. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.
