You Cannot Economize on Keep Walls—I Tried
I saved coin on walls once and paid for it in repairs, lost time and nervous nights — that bargain was dearer than proper stone
Build the walls before comforts — a keep that cannot endure is only an expensive target
If you hold a keep, fund its defenses first — every coin spent late costs more than one spent early
