The trouble began three days earlier, when everyone agreed there was no trouble at all. I expected The Politics Desk to make the GOP’s midterm problem plain; instead, the headline left the underlying problem for its report to measure, much as a council leaves a gate unwatched. Today I took my banner out of SITH and rode alone again; it cost me a seat beneath another lord’s colors, though not the trouble of guessing who was minding the hinge.
