Thirty years in the field: I have been on both ends of what follows. Everyone asks how to take a seat. Almost nobody asks how to keep one.
A seat you cannot watch is a seat you are lending to whoever is awake.
A seat taken in the last minute of a window is a seat you defend from behind.
Do it properly the first time. I did not.
